Madrid
Whilst taking his dog for a run along the beach, Jake Way stumbles upon an old message in a bottle. The letter details an important treasure buried somewhere in Madrid. Only thinking about the potential benefits, Jake goes in search of the treasure. But it isn't what he expected.
The Main Storyline
Jake Way, a twenty-one year old university student studying archaeology, is walking his dog Jack along Weston beach on a wet and windy afternoon. When Jack begins to bark and pull on his lead, Jake realises what the dog has found. An old green bottle sits poking out of the sand entangled in a thick casing of algae and seaweed. Extremely intrigued by what the message inside the bottle could be, Jake takes it home.
At home, Jake smashes the bottle and removes the tea stained letter. Upon examination, he reads that there is a hidden treasure located somewhere in Madrid. A set of small coordinates and a riddle are also scrawled on the bottom of the paper. Feeling excited at the prospect of potentially finding a small fortune, Jake books a flight to Madrid. With a hat on his head and a pair of sunglasses on his face, Jake sees himself as the modern day Indiana Jones.
After arriving in Madrid, Jake sets about finding the location of the coordinates written on the letter.
He soon discovers that the coordinates reveal the location of the riddles, but the riddles will help reveal the location of the treasure. The first riddle leads him to a second riddle and another set of coordinates.
Jake is taken on an adventure around Madrid as he solves a series of these riddles. On his adventure he marvels at the wonderful architecture and landscapes of Madrid.
Upon solving his fifth riddle, Jake realises that he is standing right on top of the treasure. Removing a small shovel from his backpack Jake begins to dig. After several minutes, he strikes the top of a wooden chest. He removes it from the ground and brushes away the dirt. Inside sits a small silver pocket watch, a spider key and a letter.
Jake is disappointed. He was expecting a treasure chest filled with gold coins just like in the movies.
Taking the letter from the chest, Jake discovers that it is a goodbye letter from a Spanish Civil War soldier who wanted his pocket watch to be returned to his wife. Jake then removes the pocket watch and the key and winds it up. It doesn’t work. Sighing he realises how stupid and selfish he has been as he was only thinking about himself. Placing the watch, key and letter back in the chest, Jake takes it back to England.
Back home Jake can be seen looking for the lady who the watch belongs to. He is pleased to know that she still lives at the same address that is stated in the letter from her husband.
He dials a phone number and then waits. After a few seconds, the voice of an elderly woman can be heard on the other end. As Jake begins to speak, the broken pocket watch begins to tick
